46th Our World in Concrete & Structures (2021)
25 - 27 Aug 2021 Singapore
This conference series has been running smoothly and continually for 44 years without any interruption. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic has caused a huge impact around the world, resulting in serious disruption in practically all things and activities. That includes OWICS, originally scheduled for August 2020, has to be cancelled for the first time. This pandemic has affected the traditional way of planning and doing things and it forces us to pause, think and transform for the future. One thing stands out clearly i.e. digitalising the construction industry now becomes even more helpful and needed. Hence, the 46th run of OWICS in August 2021 will cover, in addition to the usual development and challenges, digital transformation in the concrete and structures. For example, digital technologies and 3-D printing are increasingly used in the industry and their adoption will accelerate in the coming days. We would like to invite all architects, engineers, builders, consultants, contractors, developers, facility managers, researchers, scientists, and students to participate in this invaluable exchange of knowledge and experiences from the world over.
Since the inception of the conference series in 1976, more than 2000 keynote and technical articles have been presented, discussed and published in the annual proceedings.
Professors and participants like Franco Mola (Italy), Shoji Ikeda (Japan), Dr C T Tam, Dr Gary K C Ong, Mr Willie Kay and many more have repeatedly supported the cause.
