The effective utilization of resources is an important problem for a creation of a recycling
society. The examination for utilizing the waste glass as concrete aggregate is carried out in
this study. It is the important problem that the alkali silica reaction (ASR) must be solved
when the waste glass is used as an aggregate of concrete.
Firstly, various alkali-aggregate reaction test method were examined for the evaluation of
ASR due to the waste glass. Examined test methods are three tests method of chemical
method, rapid method and mortar bar method.
Secondly, the suppression effect of inorganic fine powder on the ASR of the waste glass
was examined when various inorganic fine powder were utilized as an admixture of cement
Finally, suppression effect on the provincial difference of natural zeolite to the ASR of the
waste glass was examined.
It was clarified that the rapid method could not evaluate the ASR of the waste glass. It
was also clarified that various inorganic fine powders could suppress the ASR of the waste
glass if they were used skillfully. Especially, it was proven that glass fine powder, which
chemical component was same with waste glass, could suppress the ASR of waste glass
