Te frame-infill systems are used throughout the world as they provide an
economical means to enclose and partition space that suits various usages.
Analytical model of the five-story, three-bay of RC frame with and without infill under static vertical loads were analyzed in this work using ADINA structural software
considering the existence and loss of outer columns. At first, three types of frames
were studied without infill, with partial infill and with full infill. Then the same cases
were studied again considering the collapse of outer columns in the first level at
each side. Te effects of different parameters on the behavior of infilled frame
subjected to loss of outer columns were also studied. Te parameters include the infill pattern and the properties of infill material. Te results were verified by comparing with previous work showing good agreement with reported behavior. Results and conclusions which are useful for structural engineering practice were drawn from the research.
